How to wear a Cutie Cuff (and where else it hugs)

A Cutie Cuff looks like a tiny plush friend, but the real trick is the band hiding behind it. Here is how to get the best hug out of it, on a wrist and everywhere else.

The basic snap

Hold the cuff flat with the character facing out. Lay it across the top of your wrist and give it a light tap: the band curls round on its own and the plush settles on top. To take it off, pull one end gently and the band straightens back out. No clasp, no buckle and nothing to pinch.

Small wrists: tap the band a little further from the character so the hug starts lower. Bigger wrists can wear it straight across.

Six places a Cutie Cuff loves to hug

Backpack straps

The most common home for a cuff. Wrap it round the shoulder strap at chest height so the character peeks out front.

Water bottles

Curl the band around the neck of a tumbler or the handle loop. Easy to spot in a pile of identical bottles at school.

Stroller bars

A Pooh or Stitch cuff on the handlebar keeps little passengers entertained, and it will not slide down like a ribbon.

Steering wheels and gear knobs

Plenty of fans give their car a passenger. Keep it clear of airbags and controls, and never where it blocks your hands.

Lanyards and badge reels

Nurses, teachers and convention-goers wrap them round lanyards and even stethoscope tubing for a friendly face on shift.

Bedposts and shelves

Off-duty cuffs look great curled round a bedpost or a shelf bracket, ready for the next outing.

The hat-to-bag trick for ride queues

Many park regulars use a cuff to keep a hat or ear headband attached to a bag strap during rides. Thread the band through the headband or around the hat's strap, then curl it onto the bag. It is quicker than a carabiner and it looks like part of the outfit.

Danglers work a little differently

The Wings of Fire Jade Mountain danglers skip the band and use a clip instead. Hook them on a zip pull, a key ring or a belt loop; the clip is the better choice for heavier bags that swing a lot.
